you know when you go to a indian restaurant and you get the poppadoms and pickle tray


what is in the the tomato one?

diced tomatoes
diced onions
coriander

does it have cucumber in it???

DH says yes
I say no

that the Riata dip has the cucumber in it.....yogurt, mint, and cucumber....

It's very difficult to say because different places/people put different things in the same pickle/chutney.

I always make raita with tomato and cucumber bits.  Some people put onion bits in as well.  I don't because I hate raw onion. 

But just yesterday we got 'raita' from a restaurant that was just plain old yogurt!

But there are so many different Indian chutneys that who knows what goes in your tomato-y one, MeShell. Maybe cucumber, maybe not.

Yes exactly - everyone makes it a little bit differently.  It seems that yogurt is the only common ingredient you can guarantee is in raita!

I made the yogurt, mint and cucumber one

and then made the tomato, coriander, onion...and gave into spousal pressure ::) and put the cucumber in this one as well


Thanks for the responses!!!!! Good to know there is no hard core ingrediants!
