18-month work permit...then what?
« on: April 25, 2007, 12:38:17 PM »
Just received word that my UK employer's request for a work permit for me has been approved (hurrah!). But it's for only 18 months. What happens after the 18 months? I don't want to have to uproot my daughter again. Thanks in advance...

If your employers want to keep you on, they apply for an extension.

If they don't, you find a new job, and the new company apply for a new permit.

Or, if you then fit the criteria for an HSMP, you can switch.

Thank you. Is the reapplication usually a formality? Enjoy Glastonbury...

Thanks!

Extension should be a breeze, assuming that the company are still in need of you.
