How do members economize on the cost of overnight trips in the UK?
How much do pay or expect to pay?

There's a huge range of hotel and B&B prices, so it's hard to say. Have a look around online and get an idea of prices in the region you're planning to visit.

are you looking for budget choices?  if so... travelodge, premier travel inn, etc... the prices are completely depenedent on location/date.  usually when i travel for work i can get a hotel for £60-£90...
If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

We manage costs in a couple of different ways and try to target about 60 pounds a nite for a tariff.  We do this by:

1.  Looking at laterooms.com.  The website has a lot of good rates.  We got a DeVere 4* Hotel in Chester for 60 quid w/ breakfast over Bank Holiday Weekend using this site.

2.  Try to find a local B+B.  Websites like tripadvisor are great for finding some names to work with.  Normally a name plus a city is enough to google up a website to get the necessary information.  This can especially be good if you are a single traveller as you can book a single for about 30 quid w/ breakfast.

3.  Book a budget hotel like PTI, Travelodge, Ibis.  PTI normally is about 55 quid.  Travelodge can be cheaper.  Best Western also has some facilities too but they can be hit or miss.
