I'm looking into post-grad programs in the UK. And it's my understanding that you need to be full time to get a student visa. Most programs i'm finding that i'm interested in are one year/full time (some with part-time options). Is it acceptable to take the course part-time, and take a couple elective classes to make the full time status, and to stay in the UK for two years instead of one? Or is that dependent on the individual university? Also, if you have a student visa for a one year course, and the course technically lasts for 9 months, do you have extra allowance to stay before and after the program ?
