European Cup FInal 23/05/07 Athens
« on: May 19, 2007, 10:31:27 PM »
Now we have got the 3rd place play off out of the way, lets get to the main event !

Liverpool FC v AC Milan

Hopefully we can keep Kaka quiet, Seedorf and Gattuso need to be taken care off too. But i reckon 'Old Big Ears' will be coming back to Anfield once again.

2-0 to Liverpool.

I think Liverpool have a decent chance as they've an excellent record in European and you wouldn't bet agianst them if it goes to penalties.

I can remember watching them win the European Cup as a kid 30 years ago.  Magic night as it was 2 years ago when they beat Milan after being 0-3 down at HT.

Where's Dennis in this thread?

 ???

If you are going to win, you'll have to do a bit better than you did in the preceding rounds - you were far from convincing.

Ha Just saw this !

The excitment has been hotting up for this game and it has all the potential of being an awesome game like in 2005 !

I think Milan will come out guns blazing, they are looking for revenge after all ! so i think our midfield and defence are going to be under pressure from kick off. I think we may go down 1 goal in the first half. On the flipside, I hope we can get a good solid footing from kick off and exert pressure on them as well and make and take any chance we get on goal.

Of course I would dearly love for us to win, and I want us to - however me just being the realist again, AC Milan are Champions too and it could quite easily be their night !

We've got a little party of boys and girls meeting up for this around a mates house, full HD telly and surround sound with a good selection of alcohol and munchies!

I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm also glad that Man Utd and Chelsea are out ! Arsenal well if it was any of the 3 in the final and not us, I'd prefer it to be these guys!

It also should be a much more promising game than that ultra damp boring performance from utd and chelsea on saturday, I almost fell asleep!

Also, I really do hope and wish that Gilett (sp?) our new owner(s) will come down to the field and mingle with our players whateve the outcome! I was impressed when he(they) recently said that they underestimated the following of Liverpool supporters before buying us, and now he really understands it and wants to be a part of it! - just saying that puts mr roman aboniblebich firmly in the 'chelsea means nothing to him' camp!

COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!

DtM! West London & Slough UK!

*Edited to Add*

This is the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE final - it's the stage where 'champions' play, Kezza, you should call it by this name 'The Champions League Final' - it's where all the European clubs want to be after they complete their domestic successes. Nice to see us back at this level! other's just haven't quite 'got it' !  ;)

I don't follow the footie, but am sincerely hoping Liverpool win, otherwise my DH will be an unbearable pain in the hole to live with. ::)

Bummer.

The first goal was handball, and totally against the run of play, but as often happens with Liverpool their lack of a decent strike force let them down.

So sorry.

Totally gutted, it was there for the taking, Milan hardly set the world alight, infact Kaka, Gattuso and Seedorf were pretty much anonymous. That defelected goal was the killer blow, without that i reckon we would've totally bossed the game in the second half. Oh well, atleast we didnt get slaughtered like The Scum. Here's for an interesting summer, need some big transfer activity !
