All I've heard is practice practice practice...

DD is pretty good with it, she could give you a tutorial!  She is learning at school.

Is there a Mac store near you?  They have classes on Photoshop on weeknights and they are free!  I took one and can now actually use Photoshop!

Here are the sites for the two London stores.  They should list all classes on there.  If they don't, just ring the store (can you tell I am a total Mac geek?):

I know PhotoShop well, but I think it's really hard to teach someone unless you're right there with them - otherwise I'd happily volunteer. Still, if you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask me!  :)

Thanks; I'll get to one of the classes first, then maybe get a book.  Right now it's really just learning how to utilize the whole program properly.  I've been mucking about fairly successfully, but I'm all too aware of what I could be doing that I don't even know about.  If that makes sense.
For really important things; of course.
;)

Modified to say:  Alas, the classes are only on weekday mornings :( .  No good for me.
I just want to learn what I don't know - things I wouldn't happen to notice 'by accident' or self-teaching... y'know?  :P
