Got an NHS dentist (Leeds) - easy-peasey!
« on: May 21, 2007, 06:03:41 PM »
I signed DH & me up for one today.  His mate at work signed up with this one last week & apparently one of the dentists there is the husband of a woman who works where Steve & his mate work.  So Steve said hurry up & call them!  It's convenient to where we live!  The NHS website said this practice wasn't taking any new patients, but I rang - and we're in, easy-peasey!

There was only one other practice showing for the Leeds PCT area, according to the website, that is taking new patients.  (Although the NHS dental website is clearly not all that up to date, 'cos they said this practice wasn't taking any & they are, or were.)

So if you're in Leeds & you need an NHS dentist - PM me & I'll send you the details. 'Cos as we all know, when these places are gone - they're gone!

Just wanted to add an update to this - we went for our check-ups today.  The NHS dentist had appointments available earlier than today (starting from back in May when I first posted), but our schedule was all filled up until this week.

It was a great experience, only cost us about £16 apiece, and we both got a good dental bill of health!  No complaints here with our NHS dentistry. ;D

I am so glad to hear about good dentists because it gives me hope that my next one will be as nice as yours!

I finally got an NHS dentist after being on the waiting list for over 4 years.  She is fantastic, got a tooth rebonded, xrays and teeth cleaned for £26.  Magic!

I've been on the NHS dentist waiting list for 3 and a half years now with no end in sight.  Went to a private dentist lately and paid 300 pounds for root canal in one tooth.  Thankfully my husband had nothing wrong!
