But who's going to explain indie music to me? Who is going to explain indie?!?!

DAMMIT, now I will never know!  [smiley=shout.gif]

Thanks for making me laugh. :-)

I am very pleased because either way I wanted her to leave.

I'd like to hear what other peoples opinions are on this....

Charlie used the N word in the house previous to this whole incident with Emily. Some people have said it's okay for her to use the word because she's black. But if Big Brother has decided the word is inappropriate in the BB house and it is serious enough that a person will be kicked out immediately for using the word, shouldn't that rule apply to all housemates, regardless of their color? Big Brother has acknowledged that Emily didn't use it with intentions of offending so it wasn't her intentions behind the word that got her kicked out...it was use of the word, period. Personally, I think all rules should apply to all housemates.

What do you all think?

I agree.  I think Charley should be kicked out as well.

The Lipless Wonder in his glory days:

That's three minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Geez, there's another one. Make that six minutes:

I agree. I saw Maya Angelou at a lecture a few years ago and she deemed the word poisonous. I think they should have applied the rule to Charley.

I hate the word, and I think no one should use it, regardless of race...rappers who use it saying it takes away the power are full of it as far as I am concerned.

However, I think it is 100x more offensive when a girl like her uses it, trying to be cool...she just doesn't get it.

Let's take our wigs off in the shopi aisle and fight it out.

If somebody of any race called me that, I would be pissed. It is derogatory, regardless of the source.

(this is not directed to uk-y) I am sick of that "they use it in Rap music" BS argument. So a small segment of entertainers represents a whole race? I don't listen to that rubbish anyway, I stick with New Order and Bach. Sorry, argument that holds no water with me.

Many black people, myself included, think it is wrong to be used by *anyone*. Rappers also say b*tches and hoes often to describe women. But I suppose all black people use that since the rappers use it too...

I hadn't heard Charlye use it, but if she did..then yes the same rules should apply.

LOVE LOVE LOVE The videos.  I take the northern line everyday, so I think I will start singing it as I ride!

Thanks for sharing opinions. I was quite surprised at the number of responses on one of the BB board from people who thought it was fine for Charlie to use the word.

That Northern Line video was hilarious. My husband and I were cracking up at the parts with the water being dumped on them and the shirts with one button done blowing around. Do you think it was that cheesy when it first came out? lol

I have a feeling that video never even got any airtime.  It is so fantastically horrible.   But I still love it and think it is hysterical.  I don't want to get banned, so I won't mention that I downloaded it to my IPOD!   ;)
