Nintendo Wii

Anyone have one of these? We bought one today for the kids. They love it and I thought it would give me some time to myself to study but instead I keep telling them "I get to play the winner!" It's really exhausting!

A friend of mine has one and we have a blast!  Love the boxing (which will actually make you soooo tired and sore), tennis, bowling.  They also have this game called Warioware, which is insane.  You do the weirdest things with the controller and it makes you look so silly.  Great fun at a BBQ with slightly tipsy late 20 somethings....

Well hubby and I are early 40 somethings and we're having a blast. When the kids go to bed we're going to have a few drinks and play some tennis. I heard the boxing was FAB but we havent tried it yet. So far just the tennis and bowling.  ;D

yeah phil was taking opportunity that I wasn't around to buy one. :P
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

*runs around cheering everyone on* YEAH! See there are good GOOD video game systems out there to buy your children that aren't all shooter and violence! :D Once I get to Wales my fiance and I are going to get one of these shortly after. I've played about 10 min of the tennis game in Wii Sports and loved it. I've not played anymore as I'm waiting to be with my fiance to play.

Another suggestion if you personally find you like playing the games is the Nintendo DS Lite. It's the handheld partner but instead of being able to swing the remote at the screen and have it react this one lets you use the bottom screen as a touch screen. Loads of fun and a variety of games to play. Best used if you have any type of wait in your day (for a bus, a meeting etc) because you can just snap it shut and it power saves wherever you are. Battery life is pretty good too.

We have one and we LOVE it!!!!! If you play a lot of the sports today, be prepared for a sore arm for the next few days!!!!  We have Zelda and Monkey Ball on top of Wii Sports but it is definitely Wii Sports we play the most.  Love it.

Oh and you can create a Mii.  Like a mini-you!  And you use your Mii when you play Wii sports.  Mine is so cute! I love it!  Wish I had a Wii.  Maybe I can convince DF to get one when I move over.  But, he is anti-TV so I am not so sure I can convince him to be pro-Wii.

We created our Mii's to look like the six of us. I made mine with make up and a bit plumper than the rest of the family. The funniest was my youngest Jack who will be 3 next month. We call him the Devil Boy because he's SUCH a devil! His birthday is even on 6/6! So his Mii is short with angry eye brows, messy blond hair and dressed entirely in red! It's hilarious!!
Played baseball tonight for a good hour. I'm already feeling the aches and pains!

I want one.  I think it would be a blast.  Better than just sitting in front of the TV in the evening, which is becoming too much of a habit.

OK, so where is the best place to get a Wii?  Can they play in the US if you buy it here and vice versa?

We got ours with the sports game at Argos for £179 which is a good price! We had to shop online for an Argos that had them in stock. We drove to Rugby to get it!
I'm not sure if the games are universal. I'm trying to find out now.
GET ONE!!!
