Nope I haven't been ill at all recently. Dar, I tried what you suggested lol and it doesn't move.  I'll just call Monday morning and see when I can get in and see the female, non-stupid doctor ;D

I've had that problem, my doctor said it can be from shaving  ??? but also could be an enlarged lymph node. I tend to get them more around allergy season or when I"m very tired or am coming down with something. It's mostly just one node, but I do get them in all the other main lymphatic sections too.

I'm really on top of any lumps with my family history of cancer. Definitely get it checked out. I hope it is just a lymph node or benign cyst!

I get lumps from shaving, I always have.  I assume they are ingrown hairs, but they don't hurt, usually.

The lumps my doctor said were from shaving were actually more underneath the skin, seemed completely different from ingrown hairs, which is what I thought was really weird about that.  ???

Ah, well that is different then.  Hopefully, this will all get sorted out soon.

If you can't see an ingrown hair, sooner or later it pops out like a zit.

No, it was definitely not that. It is more like what you might think a tumor would feel and look like.

My mom has had a bump just like you're describing since she was a teenager. I saw it the other day for the first time when she was reaching for something and it freaked me out at first. She just said "oh that? no, it's just there. it's been there since I started my period when I was a teenager and I've had it checked a couple times. It's just a weird bump" She never did say exactly what it was called though. Probably just a benign cyst like Darlithia was saying.

GET IT CHECKED! Im 23 and had a lump as well... no soreness or redness but it was the size of a marble.  Had it checked out... everything is fine.  They took a biopsy with a needle, then i had to go back for another appointment where they did an ultrasound and determined to was a fibroadenoma (benign tumor common in women my age).  I had to wait about 3 months for an NHS appointment though.. the reasoning being 'your 22 not 52' which in the end is fair... because i dont want to take an appointment away from someone who really needs one.. but a stressful wait!
