US TV shows in the UK this summer?
« on: June 04, 2007, 06:44:21 PM »
Of course as soon as I leave for a month+ two shows I've been waiting for are finally coming here.  Brothers and Sisters as we have talked about and also Runaway (With Donnie Wahlberg) http://www.tv.com/runaway/show/58398/summary.html?tag=tabs;summary  (It's already canceled, but looks good anyway)

Does anyone know of any other shows coming this summer?  I'm going to have to bribe Rich to make sure he does not leave any shows on the Sky+ so my shows tape.

I read about Runaway and thought it sounded pretty good, but I'm not sure if I want to get hooked on a show that'll only be around for a few months.  :(

Studio 60 is also starting up here later this month!!

And My Name is Earl and Las Vegas are both coming back again this summer!

(Hi. I'm Helen and I'm a television addict.)

Hi Helen, I'm Stacey and I too am a TV addict.

I know, I watched Kidnapped (I LOVE Jeremy Sisto!!!) and knew it ended, but funny enough they wrapped it all up pretty much in 13 epi's.  I don't get why they show shows here that are already canceled.  A bit strange.  However they usually show all the epi's they have even the ones they don't show in the US.

I was wondering where Earl was!

I think Studio 60 was canceled too, though I heard it was pretty good.

Um, yes and no.  It's Aaron Sorkin, so the dialogue is, of course, amazing.  It's a brilliant cast (I'd like to openly declare my love for both Timothy Busfield and Steven Weber) and has amazing potential.

HOWEVER... after the first few episodes it starts to fall a bit flat.  It's still good, but not Sorkin good.  It's worth watching, but sadly doesn't live up to what we usually expect from Mr. Sorkin.

Oh, and I just want to add that this past season of My Name Is Earl was the best season yet.  Simply brilliant.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!  Really?  Her talk show you mean right?  Thank you!

OK, just set it to record. (The first show repeats again tomorrow at noon)  It does not have a series link, how annoying!  Thank you!

Thanks, might give it a miss. (I think my parents liked it for Sorkin!)

I miss "Huff." Did anyone else see that? It was really good, and I'm not sure why they canceled it. Ratings as usual, I suppose.

Steven Weber YES. Timthy Busfield ... not so much. But Aaron Sorkin rocks. Even on an off day, he's better than most. I'll definitely be watching, even though it's been cancelled.

Has anyone seen The Wire? I hear it's really good and also filmed in Baltimore (I loved Homicide, too). Anyone know if there's a site I can get the episodes from?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Cheap filler from the always-envied US ;)
I'm waiting for 'The Nine' to show up... so we can get hooked and then get the plug pulled (someone in the US correct me, but I thought that was one where they wanted to have a long arc ala 'Lost', but cancelled before it went anywhere, leaving the characters and storyline hanging).

The Wire is showing on the FX channel, which is also showing the brilliant Sleeper Cell.

Anyone know when The Shield is coming back?

We've been wondering about "The Shield," too. It's annoying how unpredictable TV shows are here.

Timthy Busfield ... not so much.
Seriously, he's brilliant in this series.  He gets some of the best lines!  And for those of you West Wing fans, Allison Janney guests (as herself) on one of the last episodes, and has some fabulous scenes with Mr. Busfield.  It was like a lovely little CJ & Danny reunion. :D

The Shield is only just beginning its new season in the US now.  Don't know how that affects when it airs in the UK, though.

I missed the last few episodes of "The West Wing." Did CJ and Danny get married?
