*That* is funny AyouBob!  I didn't get apples--my mom wasn't as healthy minded as that--I usually got a pack of Fritos or Cheetos.

Nope--you're not weird.  I like it too.  But I like the processed stuff, too.

Anybody remember (maybe it still exists) something called Goober Grape (I think)?  It was a jar of peanut butter swirled with nasty grape or orange jelly.  It looked cool because you could see the swirl from the outside of the glass jar.

I remember Goober Grape my grandma always made my sister & I pb&j sandwiches with goober grape. so it was a real treat for my sister & I cause our dad didn't allow us to have any jelly on Pb sandwiches. we weren't allowed anything that had sugar in it period. when we lived with our dad he was a real health nut literally. now 20 years later he has a beer belly my oh my how the mighty have fallen lol.  ::)  :P  I have no problem with a healthy diet but my dad took it to the extreme though.

I also think that it should only be a tablespoon used when doing pb spoons.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

;D
I hate cilantro but love Mexican food! Actually, they don't seem to use it much in southern NM--I only "discovered" cilantro when I went to university in San Diego and couldn't figure out why all the salsa tasted like soap.

that's so funny -- that's exactly how my dad describes it!!

I remember the first time I ever tried peanut butter. I was about 6 or 7 years old. I loved butter and I loved peanuts, so I was very excited about it! But ... ohhh ... it was not what I expected. I didn't like it at all! I've since grown to like it once in a while in moderation, but I'll never be all American over PB.  :P

I still do that :-[DH thinks it's the grosset thing he's ever seen (like he has any room to talk)but it is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.  DD is taking a liking to it too!

And then they dropped food packs.  And aside from mineral water, toilet paper, soap, and what-not, what do you think they included?

Yup.  Each food pack had a big plastic container of peanut butter.

Murkins.  You have to love them.  It's a cultural thing...

Oh Garry this gave me such a good laugh!  When I was in elementary school, our school would do a food drive every year, usually around Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Every year I would insist that my mom go out and get a couple jars of peanut butter.  I absolutely could not phathom people living without peanut butter.  Or SpaghettiO's.

I really like the "natural" peanut butter.  Maybe I am weird?
I don't think it's weird to like natural peanut butter. Usually I prefer stuff as natural as possible! But this was different from the stuff you get in jars--practically too thick to spread and very grainy, because their peanut-grinding machine wasn't powerful enough to get it smooth. My mom thought it was the best thing ever, but then she doesn't eat peanut butter, so she didn't actually know what it was like!

I think the problem is that I don't like peanuts that much, so I find that they're improved by a bunch of salt and sugar.  ;)

Wotsits with Skippy on them are yummy. Yes, weird, I know. But I had to try it today.

Just to add that since American PB can be purchased at Costco's, I'm good with that.

Now if somebody would open an IHOP over here, I'd be all set!

Don't even GO there, Garry!! (I made some chocolatey-chocolate chip pancakes, with homemade whipped cream for breakfast not long ago.) I also made home-made raspberry syrup.......that was yummy with the regular pancakes. Needless to say, I MISS IHOP.

My grandparents used to take my little sister and me to i-Hop when we were kids.  I'd always get the chocolate-chocolate chip pancakes with chocolate syrup and chocolate milk.

I *still* love chocolate--of course ;D
