Okay, this is a thread for people going to Glasto this year...let's try to meet up if we can.

I'm getting a coach up on Thursday evening so will be there probably about midnight.  We're pitching near the John Peel tent.

Anybody else?

Vicky

A meet up would be nice! And maybe watch the same acts together!

I am going to be seeing Bjork(for sure), Hot Chip(if its not conflicting), The Who, Maybe the Killers, Guillemonts(for Jassen), but I think this year might be the year we discover other parts of the fest.

This is our 3rd time going, so it should be a good one, since we know how to prepare.:-p
In 2005, we left to arrive on the Wednesday and found that to be a bit too ahead of time. In 2004, we left on the Thursday morning and got their for the afternoon. We will do the same thing this year. We manage to get the National Express Fare for a total of £6-8 in total, but it only goes to Bristol, but what we remember from 2004, is that once we get to Bristol, we get another bus from their to the site for £15 each. Should work out!:-p

We usually pitch our tent in the higher areas(to avoid possible flooding disasters!) I don't know how to exactly describe where its pitched but up and away(lots of exercise), but we can see the right hand-side of the pyramid stage in the distance.

 ;D

OH! And we got a pop-up tent this year, and trialed it in the back garden. It's sooo spacious and neat!:-)

This is my first Glastonbury, and my boyfriend's eighth!!!

I want to see the Who, though am torn between them and The Gossip, who we both want to see, but I figure that if I don't see the Who now I may never get a chance again.

We're going later than we wanted, but the only tickets we could get were the ones that involved going on their official coaches, so we have no choice.

Anybody else?  Or is this going to be thread for just us two?

 ;D

Jassen managed to see the Who at Isle of Wight back in 2004. He said that they put on an awesome show, so I am looking very much forward to that! I saw Bjork last month in Chicago with a good friend and she was fantastic as well!

And man, 8 times! What a trooper! (maybe we even crossed paths before and didnt realize!)I hope you are limbering up/stretching and trial walks with all the walking that is ahead of you! Seriously, i didnt realize how much walking could be done in a day.:-/ Be prepared and hydrated!

So, you had no choice in the coach? Good luck in setting up tent! It is going to be interesting to see how the weather turns out this year!

PS..Come on peep! I know there are more of you out there going! >:( ;D

Have loads of fun (which you will) and stop by the common ground cafe next to the acoustic tent you can't miss it ...it's a wooden log cabin.

head over to the kids fields they have nice showers.

Go to los vageness

Comedy tent I'm sure Bailey will make an appearance

I gets COLD so pack to stay warm in the night.

Late night cinema is sooo much fun!!

get yourself a headlamp makes it so much easier when traveling back to your tent with your cider ;D

I'd like to go but Jon refuses to go now that it's become so commerical. (he's a bit of a hippy sometimes).

But I will say definately get one of those head lamps. They're a godsend when you're in a portaloo at night and trying to fish out your tissues from your bag. You don't need to balance a torch while hovering, you know?
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

My mate is bringing one...he's a plumber!

Dan reckons it's still not that commercial....not like V anyway, which is apparantly appalling.

Yea...V is kinda crap....went to the 2004 one. They had restrictions on when we were allowed to walk around the stage areas and such, since it was a bit separate from the camping area. It felt like we were cattle or something.:-/

And BRING YOUR WELLIES!!
GOd had opened the skies above and prepared Glasto for the mudpeople!
Also, plenty of bin liners and plastic bags! loo rolls!

;-)

PS...Just got my cats picked up by the cattery(really sad), since Jassen and I are doing Glastonbury and then next thursday going out to the states and getting hitched in July! Eek!!:-)

V fest is commercial but they are not trying to push themselves that they are not. Glasto is commercial it would be silly not to in order to get to where they are and the fact that Eavis opens his mouth about which band they want before they even get them. It's not the commercial aspects that puts me off this year it's the trundle there and back with the fecking long queues home :P

a friend just text me that she sold her ticket to someone for a sizable amount ::) :P

I'm sure she's not the only one  :P I already told her off and I knew she was going to pull that stunt yet another reason I'm giving up glasto :-\\\\

Probably a bit late for Glastonbury, but Office Shoes is advertising a collection of 'Fab Festival Wellies.' They're pretty twee, but some of them are very cute.

Wellies Galore.

(Have fun and be careful at Glasto...I'm the idiot who booked her wedding during festival weekend, so not only do I not get to attend, but several of our friends are gone as well! Boo!)
