Whole Foods carries BONNY DOON WINE!!!! There are VERY few things that I miss from the US and I don't tend to get precious about finding American things over here, but that made me very, very happy.  :D

very nice  :) I was just in SC a couple of weeks ago and saw the signs for Bonny Doon tasting and I thought of you!  :)

It sounds like we will have to have a UKY meet up at WF... imagine the giggling in the aisles when we find something we like.  ;)

I'm so glad to hear all the good news about Monterey Jack cheese! I sure hope I can find it! I know anyone else with a funny stomach will understand when you have to try something new, it's always a very scary thing!

Is Whole Foods near Imperial College? I have to go there on Wednesday and I may need to kill some time before my train. I think I'll do that at a grocery store!

OMG I just have to add... I went to Whole Foods on Sunday (one in Phoenix, not the Kensington one!!) and got the most lovely smelling shampoo ever! I'll have to look when I  get home to see what it's called. Smells so good....  [smiley=smitten.gif]

I went in yesterday and was very impressed, it is a beautiful store. I found orzo and tinned black beans so I think it was successful. I thought it was a good place for lunch as I made myself a huge salad and got a roll for £6, and they have lots of seating upstairs and there's no rush to get out of there.

Since we're on cheese for the moment... is Monterey Jack easy to find in the UK? I LOVE Monterey Jack cheese, and almost always use it instead of "American cheese."

Whole Foods carries Monterey Jack for £12.90/kg, and it's pretty spot-on in texture and flavour. I've only been here a week, so my memory is pretty fresh.

They do not, however, carry my personal favourite of cheap cheeses: pepper jack. But they did seem to have some rubbery cheddar (no orange food colouring, though).

Oh, awesome! I only had 15 minutes there yesterday, so I didn't see that. I miss getting a bit pissed in the rustic little Bonny Doon tasting room with their ~10 samples, buying a few bottles, then heading into Santa Cruz for a soak at Kiva.

I *did* see that Whole Foods had Izze sodas, though! Twice the price I'd pay at Whole Foods in Campbell, but at least I can get it.
