Pre-Wedding Nightmares
« on: June 07, 2007, 01:36:32 PM »
literally, nightmares.

I had the worst dream last night that C. and I were laying in bed and he calmly told me that the last time he slept with someone (besides me) was on my brother's birthday...which was three days ago. I, of course, started yelling, and he could not understand why it was a problem as she had been a virgin...and I screamed and screamed and threw my engagement ring at him and ran off. I expected him to follow, but he didn't, he calmly went back to sleep and I finished the dream crying in the basement (which we don't have).

Now, I know C would never cheat on me. But the dream left me sick to my stomach. More than the cheating, it was his lack of comprehension that it was wrong and that it upset me that, well, upset me and left me kind of shaky.

Did anyone else have dreams like this before their wedding? I'm a big believer that dreams are just dreams, but part of me thinks that the emotions must come form somewhere.

I think I just need a biscuit and a hug, and maybe a cup of tea...

Yep....I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that we made it to the altar and the officiant asked me if I wanted to marry him and I said yes...and then he asked Rich the same and he said NO, he changed his mind and he didn't want to marry me at all! Freaked me right out and I was so upset...both in the dream and for a few minutes after I woke up!  Fortunately Rich was sleeping right next to me IRL so he was able to cuddle me when I woke up and tell me that yes, he definitely still wanted to marry me :)

Before my wedding I had a dream that we'd gone off on our honeymoon and suddenly realized that we'd forgotten to sign the marriage license, and couldn't figure out whether we were legally married or not! Sounds silly now, but it shook me up pretty badly at the time.

Must be the boys as well because last night Dan said that he had a nightmare that we were about to get married when he realised that my engagement ring (which in the dream i had to have sized down) came back in a melted pile of mess.  He said he was really upset and sad that i hadn't said anything to him.

I had horrid dreams about being left behind in the US by Roy and that he didn't care.  I think it happens to most women (and some men) before they get married...totally normal!

Thanks everyone.

It's definitely nice to know it's not just me.

I had another one last night, not so emotionally devestating. The processional was starting and I was still sewing my wedding dress, by hand, out of grey tartan...*shudder*

I also dreamed that our parents surprised us with a HUGE honeymoon, so that made up for the bad bit.

When i was engaged, I would dream that I lost my engagement ring. I would wake up in the middle of the night freaking out that I didn't have it on anymore or it wasnt where I had left it before i went to bed. There were several variations/outcomes of that same dream. I think it was nerves more than anything, lol.
