Sarah Jessica Parker: 'Sex' movie is on

Yes, it gave me hope... until the end. 

I'm no SATC fan, or even of Hollywood endings but it happens in real life too. 5 years ago, out of my 4 close friends and I only 1 was in a stable relationship ... now we all are ... and seriously, one of those I thought she would never ever settle down but just 6 months ago she met her dream man.  You (meaning people in general, not you specifically)  just have to want it enough to make it happen. 

Anyway sorry to hijack .. back to the topic.

I honestly never thought about the way it ended. In real life, the vast majority of people I know are either in relationships, getting out of relationships, in between relationships, or longing for another relationship. There are very few that seem to be happy as singletons.

I'm not saying it's not possible. In fact, I doubt that you can really BE truly happy in a relationship if you are not happy with yourself so perhaps that was the point. That they had all struggled to find themselves first.

I dunno.

Well, we are soooo not going with E now

On second thought, we are dragging her with us!

There were alternate endings btw.  One with her ending up with the Russian, one alone and the one with Big.  I would have been fine with the one alone as well.  But TBH I'm a romantic at heart and I love Big, so I was happy about it.

In real life she did not get Big.

I do think the ending would have been nicer if none of them had ended up with a man, but had all realised that their friendship was more important, blah, blah, blah. I know that sounds very Hallmark-y, but I think I would have preferred it.

At least give Samantha Smith, I mean come on

I'm bummed, it's slated for a May 30, 2008 release date and I'm visiting the U.S. next May, but leave on May 27    I wonder how soon after it would be released here in the U.K.?

I always thought a great spin off would be Miranda & Steve and the kid(s) in Brooklyn, with Steve's mother, and Magda. How Miranda's life goes from Manhattanite Lawyer Single to Brooklyn mother working in the city, juggling a deteriorating mother-in-law, a house being remodeled, her working class husband, and her career and child. Plus, of course, cameos from Charlotte & Harry, Samantha and Smith and Carrie & Big!

Of them all, Miranda and Steve had the most potential to develop (Carrie & Big I didn't consider because SJP & Noth moved on to other things). Charlotte and Harry, while I loved them, got a little 2-D what with the puppies and the Chinese baby. Samantha & Smith could have been a possibility to develop into a series but I just didn't think it could go the distance with storylines. But Miranda & Steve and all the characters associated with them, could be a series.

In my daydreams, of course.

Can't wait for the movie.

& I loved that they gave us the fairytale ending for all the girls at the end. It's a fair point about not needing a man and all that, but I thought it was a nice touch that they gave everyone the fairytale.
