Last minute hair bookings!
« on: June 08, 2007, 03:48:04 PM »
Ok, with everything going on with the move and wedding planning, I just realized I have totally forgot about hair.

How do you forget about hair?  I figured out what I want, I spent about 20 hours making my headpeice, and I haven't booked a dresser!

So I spent today looking up and contacting mobile hairdressers (we are getting ready at his parent's house in Northern Surrey, the wedding is at 1 pm on a Friday, we will not have time to get somewhere to have it done) and it seems that I have waited way to long and nothing is available as of yet.  It is June 8th today and the Wedding is July 20th.  I really thought I had time.

I suggested doing our own hair to my mother, and she nearly blew a gasket.  Her hair tends to be extremely difficult and she says she refuses to be in photos unless her hair is done professionally, becuase it will end up looking like a puffball (it really will, I have seen it).  My hair is the opposite but difficult as well, I have yet to find ways to avoid it from getting stringy and falling down.  Plus, my handmade headpiece isn't the easiest to attach, being that I am not an expert in making hair accessories.

I should have planned for this but I was all caught up other things and didn't.

So, um, what do I do?  Beg random hairdressers on the street?  Panhandle with a sign that says 'will dance for hairdresser'?

keep calling around.  call local salons and see if you can book someone to come to your house or ask them for a referal.  call a bit outside your area, but be prepared to pay extra travel expense.

I just got married in March and didn't think that getting my hair done was worth all the fuss, but in the end it was.  I didn't have to do anything to my hair all day and it was quite a relief.

Just keep calling around.  Surely you will find something.

They might also (at a salon) be willing to open up for you at a very early hour if you are willing to pay enough...

good luck!
