Oh, I bet cilantro would be great in that.
I'm sure it would, if you like it--I hate it with a passion!  ;)

I have a couple of recipes that have always been a hit (at least in the US) that I'd be willing to share if you'd like.  They are both salad recipes (one is a seven layer salad and the other is a broccoli salad).

Let me know and I'll pm you the recipes.

OMG  I haven't had a seven layer salad in ages!  YUM YUM YUM!

I just wish I could get miracle whip here.  Its not the same without miracle whip!  (I may bring some home this trip!)

I remember that stuff somewhat from a lifetime ago but what is miracle whip? I always thought it was a mayonaise.
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

Isn't it like salad cream here?   I am not a MW fan, but thought the tastes were similar.

All the flavor and half the fat than regular mayo!!!

Regular Mayo: 11grams fat
Miracle whip: 3 grams fat

http://www.kraftfoods.com/MiracleWhip/believeIt.htm

ETA: another website said its a mayo substitute, so I don't know if its really classified as mayo.

Miracle Whip was invented in the 30's (a response to the great depression when eggs were scarce.) It it whipped harder and faster to create the same volume of product out of a lot fewwer eggs, and uses water instead of oil.

(science nerd, oh dear me)

This whole conversation cracks me up, because I just yesterday found out that DH thinks that Miracle Whip and Cool Whip are the same thing!  :o

Although... a friend made a salad with spinach, strawberries, lime juice and Miracle Whip,  and it was good!

(Having thought that only Cool Whip would be good on strawberries.)

they sell miracle whip in tesco extras. and in the light version too.

i agree about the deviled eggs they rock!!!
also i really like cold summer salad ie finely chopped red yellow green and orange bell peppers. chopped cucumber, onion, carrots, celery etc, mixed with light italian dressing, served very cold, soooo good!!

desserts are always good too! and tescos and asda do betty crocker cake mixes and easy spread icing.

dunno you could always do very easy finger foods like tortilla pinwheels with cream cheese, or pickle rolls always a hit ( cooked ham sandwich meat, then spread cream cheese on all over the roll up a pickle in it, the chill in fridge then cut in bite size chunks with toothpicks to secure each.)

WOW that's some reduction in fat! Must look out for it next time I'm in Dundee.

If you're used to ordinary mayonnaise, Bob, you might find Miracle Whip a bit sweet. It always tastes really sugary to me. I'll stick with my real mayonnaise and fat be damned!  ;D
