British Dance Music for Reception
« on: June 09, 2007, 10:00:15 PM »
I was hoping some people here could help me out. I am trying to compose a list of British Pop/Dance music for our wedding reception. I thought it would be a nice touch to add some tunes... I myself am not a huge dance music fan but do know it's an important part of any wedding celebration. So if anyone could help give me some of their favs from any period that would be so very much appreciated!

Cheers!
Angela

The one song that pops to mind is Queens "Don't Stop Me Now".  Gets eveyone up on the dancefloor.

There were some good suggestions here.

Just don't play the Birdie Song or Agadoo.  ;D

We had Agadoo at our wedding reception.  ::)
I had no idea what they were saying!

Hmmm.  Do you actually mean 'Dance Music' the genre, or do you mean 'music that people will dance too'?

If you mean the latter, then that other thread is pretty comprehensive.

I'm in the mood for dancing - The Nolan Sisters
Agadoo - Black Lace
Making your mind up - Bucks Fizz
Do I love you - Frank Wilson
Sexual Healing - Marvin Gaye
Relight my Fire  - Take That

I wish I could think of more...but those are a few classics!!! Your DJ will know what songs are traditionally played at a wedding reception. I have been to my fair share of weddings here...
