the fantastic NHS
« on: June 15, 2007, 09:12:43 PM »
i have just come out of hospital after emergency surgery, and i have to say i was looked after by the best nurses, doctors, and porters possibly in the NHS ,And its a big three cheers for those dedicated professionals who looked after me. Just thought i would put this as a positive, to those who are worried by stories of bad experiences others have had
its a far better thing i do than i have ever done

Glad to hear you were well cared for and are on the mend.

I, too, had emergency surgery and that care was excellent.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I'm glad things went well but I have to say when I read the title of the thread I assumed it was meant in a sarcastic sense.

Thanks for posting that; I've got to go in in a couple of weeks and have had a few concerns, so for me, your post is great timing!

Hope you're well on the mend.

What a great post! I love hearing good things about the NHS (no I don't work for them) I have had some wonderful experiences with the NHS and I fully believe they provide excellent healthcare.

Glad to hear that everything went well for you!

I've had 3 operations under general anaesthetic in the last year, and all 3 times the staff were fantastic and i had no complaints at all with my care on the NHS.

Glad you're on the mend, whiteknight!  Glad you had such a positive experience.  I know my luck might change, but I've had a lifetime of excellent care!

Good to hear Whiteknight!

My mum had an extremely positive experience when she needed her knee replacement surgery a few years ago - and was impressed with how the whole actual hospitalisation procedure went.

It's good when they get it right to an excellent level like this!

Cheers! DtM! West London & Slough UK!
