I know of Sir Patrick Moore and the Sky at Night but I can't say I've sat down and watched it.  I do recall last year there was a BBC Star Gazing show on for a night or a few nights where they had an observatory setup in Spain and also in the UK and I think one of those places was Patrick Moore's place on the south coast.  I think the cloudy weather got the better of them in the UK for the most part!

My BIL downloaded a star gazing Google Earth-style software on my PC at home.  I haven't used it a great deal but it has the Google Earth feel in that you can zoom around seeing different angles of the sky, what stars, etc would be up there.  I'll check it out when I get home and see what it's called, it's pretty interesting.
And the world first spoke to me in Sensurround

I used to watch Dr. Who on PBS when it came on at 11pm on Saturday nights.  Incidentally, there was a 15 minute show called The Stargazer with Jack Horkheimer that we watched afterwards and it was crazy.  This far too excited astronomer would talk about what you can see in the naked sky but they used outrageous "special effects" in which he'd be sitting on rings of Saturn and would fall off and it was really hilariously bad, but we loved it!

But I digress... Loved seeing that the Master is back!  Now all we need is a return of Davros.  I don't think he's been on the new Dr. Who although I missed a bunch of episodes after the first couple of seasons.  Saw last weeks and it was great, can't wait to see part 2.

Oooooh... I remember Jack!  Embarrassingly enough, the original dr. who is still on where I grew up, so I watched it straight through Uni.  When I was back in April it still goes, Red Dwarf, Jack Horkheimer, the original dr. who (2 episodes), and finally one episode of the first season of the new dr. who.  I was very angry when they stopped showing all of a plot in the original dr. who, and started showing only two episodes at a time.  Bah!

Davros can't come back.  He was killed by Daleks and unless the Doctor goes back to his inception, which I don't think is possible, we won't see him again.  I am pretty sure that the Daleks saw to that.

Anyway...can't wait until Saturday.  I don't know how the Doctor is going to fix this one.

I about spit out my cereal at seeing stargazer mentioned here.  That guy was the biggest nut!  I could never make up my mind if I like the little program or if it drove me mad!

I am a total Dr. Who nut, and not just because it is filmed in my town and I can see bits of Cardiff all over it!  My husband got me into it before I came.  I wasn't into sci-fi at all when I was younger, but grew to enjoy several programs later.  I never saw the original until I've recently seen a few episodes and the Five Doctors.  DH was raised on it and it's fun watching with him because he fills in the gaps for me.  I saw the first series alone on the Sci-Fi network in the US, then watched half of the second series in the states and the other half here on DVD.  It's been a kick seeing the episodes fresh on series three.

Can I just say that this last half of the series has rocked!  For me I'll admit it was dragging a bit--mostly b/c of the sappiness of the Martha wanting romance thing, but it so picked up starting with the scarecrow episodes that were just good and creepy and it was fun to see the Doctor getting a life and romance that he couldn't have normally but wouldn't drag on for episodes to come.  Then came the statue episode, which I watched with my husband's arms around me b/c it was seriously freaky!  DH commented that the episode felt like the old Dr. Who--small budget, so they used ingenuity and mindplay to really get to you.  The next week we said it kept getting better and better.  I'm so excited for Saturday to see how it ends.

Between this and Ugly Betty ending, I'm going into mourning next week over the loss of any good shows to watch.

Martha got a backbone!  It made me want to like her again.  I'll have to write more thoughts later though.  I've been anxious to get on here and ask what you all thought.

I think a lot of people felt that way and that's why they're having two companions next year.

I hear Martha Jones will be on Torchwood too.

I'm not massively happy with the idea of Donna coming back as an assistant full time.  I think she is too large a character and will overwhelm the show.

I was less than happy with the ending of this series actually.  I'm becoming increasingly concerned about the fluctuations in Russel T's writing.  His episodes are usually either brilliant or rubbish, and I thought most of this was rubbish.

I did like the little 'Face of Bo' twist though!

Calling all Dr Who geeks fans!  Today is Dr Who day on the UKTV Drama channel, and DH has already glued himself to the tele.  We were hoping to walk today, but the weather is turning out to be rubbish (again) -- so I reckon we could do worse than an all day Dr Who fest for a rainy day. :P
