Paperwork for the initial vaccination...?
« on: June 18, 2007, 06:43:38 PM »
Okay, I've got to get my pussoes started if I'm ever getting out of here. I would have gotten going ages ago, but my vet was WAY too casual about this. She's, like, "yeah, yeah...whatever. We'll manage." And I'm, like, "no, this all has to be very methodical and by the book or they're going to turn us around at Heathrow." I don't much like my vet.

They were both chipped when they were neutered, so it's just the vaccine right now. Is it a special form my vet has to fill out for these visits, or is her regular office report good enough? (With the vaccine lot and the chip number written on it, of course). Do I need the vaccine's data sheet or anything?

I'm so not good at paperwork and the more I read, the more confused I get. This is going to be a sucky year.

And has anybody else noticed that the icon for "I have posted in this thread" looks like a grumpy post-it note?

That's fine - as long as the vaccine lot and chip number are available to be transferred to the blood test request and to the airline/DEFRA paperwork at a later date, then a regular office-type printout is fine.  That's what I had!

Once I get this ECDL test out of the way (Friday), I'm going to work on a big informational PETS post with scans of the paperwork that I used to get my boys here.  Hopefully that'll happen this weekend!

That would be really helpful!

Probably my imagination, but I thought when I signed up a year ago that there were a lot more pinned FAQ type documents. All the major topics could use a nice, concise FAQ.

A year from now, when I'm done and the scars have healed a litte, perhaps I'll volunteer :)

MEG--That would be sooooo helpful!!  I to am just starting the process, and it is far more difficult for us to get our 3 cats over to England than to get our "human" paperwork done and moved!  I also find it very confusing and there are not a lot of vets that actually do know what we're talking about(at least not here)!!!

It can be the regular "certificate" that you receive, but it must have the microchip number typed on it.  You may also want to get the microchip scanned to ensure its still working properly.  My vet did this at every visit.
