Low Fares to London and Manchester
« on: June 20, 2007, 10:03:34 PM »
I got this notice in my email and thought I'd pass it along in case anyone finds it useful. I haven't traveled between the US and UK in 2 years now so I'm not sure how good of a deal this is but here ya go:

Air Moose! I flew them once. Their fare sales can be quite cheap, but you do have to go through Canadian customs (you usually touch down in Canada).

I had a sufficient layover to shop in the gift shops there. I bought a gilded plastic moose thermometer placque for my beloved. I made the mistake of mentioning to someone else in line that I was buying it because it was the most hideously awful thing I'd seen in my long life.

The girl behind the register was crestfallen. Oops! That was an accident...

I looked at that site.
Fares are confusing because of the ad ons for government/taxes.

Price it all the way through and you will find a round trip fare for about $480, which includes all government fees and taxes.  That's a damn good price!

Ha ! Air Moose! I like that !

I've flown with them 2 timess, nothing special really on the first one, it was a good fare to Toronto so I booked it and hopped over.

Second time was better, had a business visit for 2 weeks in Calgary, so popped over as normal, and on the way back I got bumped to First Class !

I need to find that site which gives insider tips and tricks to get the best chances of being bumped to first class again, I need to try them out !

I was like a proper spoilt brat on that flight!

Other wise air moose is decent enough !

Cheers DtM! West London & Slough UK!

LOL I actually just booked a flight with them to Manc for August last week  ;D

I had been looking for flights from Philly to Manc in late August and prices were anywhere from $800 to over $1000. Then this one popped up, and I booked it for $666, a very good price for that time of year. This is the first time I'll be flying with Air Canada, and the first time I'll ever have a layover too, I'm always used to direct flights. So all in all I feel like its a good price to pay for a minor inconvenience, and its worth it to save over $100.
