We moved from UK to North Carolina when my daughter was mid-way through her 10th grade year. The counselors had a lot of "give" when they were giving her credit. Even though her PE wasn't every day, they gave her a year's credit. Basically, they'll look at what a typical Freshman would have taken, and look at your daughters' courses and say "yes, that'll work for this course...check...."
The hardest part was knowing the proper math course to enroll her in, which French class would most closely correspond to her UK French, etc. I wish we would have had my daughter take some type of placement testing to see where she fell, because she's been playing catchup in math ever since. Maybe you can ask if she gets into a class that doesn't seem suited for her level, can she move up or down within X number of weeks.
The "no transcript" thing was a bit tough, so on her transcript they just put "Pass" and none of it figured in to her GPA. We were told to bring letters from the school/teachers that gave indications of her grades, but in the end they weren't used at all so it was a lot of work for nothing.
If you know the school that she'll be entering, you could contact a counselor and ask specific questions. Good luck and I hope she has an easy transition. No more uniforms, right?!
