I am well and truly touched
And OF COURSE I will keep you all posted, and OF COURSE there will be gatherings before December!
Quite an interesting lesson in learning to keep my yap shut (re: work); I don't feel like I'm necessarily 'deceiving' anyone anymore (though I did a few days ago when I was p*ssed off with them/him); now it's just a lesson in not telling everyone everything about myself (big surprise, I know; I tend to have a bad habit about that
and it's come back to bite me in the past)... but just keeping head down, getting the work done, but ... all the stress is gone, the desire to 'prove myself, etc., which is a HUGE relief.
And tell me if the angels weren't smiling down on me Monday, when I was most upset, and I finally heard back from my old boss, who suggested we meet up
that night (just to get him to reply is a miracle!)... such a great shoulder to lean on, and after much chatting, he said he fully supported my decision, it sounds like the right thing to do, and very calmly and matter-of-factly said, "Well I shall miss you terribly."
Whether it's my leonine tendencies or ... something else, loyalty runs in my bones. I never just up and go (much to perhaps a few people's chagrin, but... that's life
)
This is why I am reminded I've made a success of this adventure. I may not have met someone new, or become a star, or...
But to have connected with and met so many new people, whether in person or virtually, and to know I've affected them, in whatever way (hopefully more positive than negative), whether by getting them to think further about something, or just providing a laugh... those are my achievements.
Ah, life.
Just lickin' the lid
