Concert for Princess Diana...

Dennis Hopper???? Really??? You could almost hear a pin drop..

And am I the only one who thought P Diddy was a bit OTT?? I mean, he kept singing, "We miss you" and "Our Princess". Didn't he say in an interview that he had never even met her?

Otherwise, I thought it was great!

Was Camilla Parker Bowles really in the audience or just someone who looked like her? ???

I must have missed both Diddy and Camilla. But the thing that struck me the most was ... those princes have no rhythm!! Did you see them trying to clap??

Yes! DH and I were having a bit of a giggle over that!!!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I thought it was a great show.  P Diddy was there because the boys asked him to perform.  And yes, they were certainly nervous!  So was Beckham, he could hardly talk!

Overall I thought it was a great memorial to Diana, I think she would have been proud of her boys tonight.  :)

Me too! Wills and Harry are lovely! Each in their own way. She would be so proud of them.  ;)

I have to admit I got a bit teary eyed tonight and at the end seeing the clips of her as a child really got to me.

She was a lovely person and I indirectly blame her ex for her untimely death. Sorry, don't want to make it into a debate but I was soo incredibly sappy at the end.  :(

That's because they're men and they were trying to multitask-talk/sing and clap at the same time :P

Camilla wasn't in the audience that woman just looked like her...the Princes decided that for the concert it was only going to be the young royals allowed to attend...not any of the older royals...like Charles or the Queen or Camilla....

It was a great concert ...the Princes did a great job organizing it....Diana would be very proud of her sons...

I was working and missed it. I'm watching clips online now...did Elton John end up singing Candle in the Wind? I remember seeing somewhere that he had been asked to but they weren't sure if he would.

I watched bits of it. Duran Duran were TRAGIC.  The music was abysmal. John Taylor used to be so gorgeous and now he just looks like a caricature of a drug addled middle aged rocker. Sad.

I know! I shocked with how John looked. He was always my fav...gorgeous!  My husband missed it so I described him as on the same route as Keith Richards. It was so sad to see him like that.

I thought Simon and Nick looked pretty good!

Whoa!! Them's fighting words woman!  ;D

Seriously though, I totally disagree. I thought they had far more energy and excitement than the majority of the 'younger' acts. As for JT, yeah, he's looked better, but I don't think he looks *that* bad!

Thanks that's good to know - I saw that woman and thought, my god, that seems a little inappropriate, to say the least!

I saw a bit with Brian Ferry and he just looked incredibly tired - like it took a lot of effort for him just to stand there and look cool. Lucky for him that sort of fit into his whole persona but still.
