Do you really need a special bottle for it?

Not at all!! Most of my friends use empty gin bottles (of which they seem to all have plenty  ;) )! When I made it last year, I used special bottles - but only because I wanted to give it to people as Christmas gifts and wanted it to look extra nice.

Excellent!  Thanks for the tips.  I've done flavoured vodkas and normally what I do use some glass pasta jars, the kind that seal up with a metal bit, and then decant the finished product into nice liquor decanter bottles I pick up in charity shops pretty cheap.

I figued it'd be pretty much the same with sloes, but wanted to make sure in case I wound up ruining some gin  :\\\'( :o.
