I agree! I find it odd that the newsmedia is attempting to make it a big deal, but I'm not interested nor is anyone I know.
I'm not interested at all either. In fact I'm sick to death of hearing about it already. Today on Sky news it was a headline and they had reports from the airport since early this morning and the Beckhams weren't even schedule to arrive until 4pm  ::)   I just don't understand the British obsession with these people.

I find it incredibly comical that they'd already staked out the airport! This kind of coverage sounds on par with the people who chased Paris Hilton in the police car ON FOOT just for that *one* good shot.  ::)

Whilst all that is happening, posh stick insect will 'try' and appear as though she has some talent

OMG PEEDAL?? This is bigger news than the Beckhams! Where have you been hiding!
Welcome back! xxx

I agree!

I'm an American who lives in the States and don't hear too much about the Beckhams.  I don't care much about them either.  I don't think they (especially her) will have quite the experience they expect.  In the end, they'll probably be happy to return to England in a few years.

I don't know how big of a splash they'll make here, but I keep seeing adds for the reality show she's doing here...

DON'T SHOOT!

::) im excited but im the "typical celebrity obsessed american" who likes those "gossip" magazines. The more and more I see of them the more I like them. A few years back I saw a reality type episode of them on some show and they seemed like such a sweet couple and so normal...so started my obsession with them. Posh has really grown on me the last few years...she's so pretty when she smiles and she has a great sense of humour

See, I don't really think that David Beckham IS past his footballing prime.  I think he spent way too much time at Real being a second string player and waited too long to make a move.  I understand that he did this for money - and that's what's sad to me.  He used to just love to play football.  And he's now sold out to play in the most football under-appreciating country possible, just for a load of dosh.

I guess as long as he doesn't turn out like Best or Gazza in the end, that's something...?

And Reeeeka - don't tell my husband, but I've developed something of a soft spot for Victoria Beckham myself.  The photo in the paper today - whilst the mick was being taken out of them for not smiling enough - showed a lovely, happy family.  I just wonder sometimes if she forgets what she REALLY has that is worth so much more than money and designer clothes and big homes...

becksie could never be a commentator -- that whiney voice is enough to implode your eardums!

Oy vey indeed! I have lived in the UK for nearly 7 years and have heard all sorts of different regional English accents but I can barely understand a word that man has to say. Oh well when he look soooooooooooooo good who cares what he says!

Good riddance. Overrated and overhyped. All his career, players around Becks have made him look good, now he's on his own. We'll see how he does. LOL

Charming.
Yes, I'm sure when he was totally unknown it was his complete lack of talent and the amazing players around him that got him noticed initially.

Loads of dosh, 'smokescreens' or not, his presence alone will promote soccer to some degree.  I know for a fact there are at least two boys in LA who are beyond THRILLED to see him play live.

Well as an England fan I can't say I agree but everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

My 17 year old cousin Nikko is from Culver City and was counting down the hours till Becks arrival.

I know some older boys who are beyond thrilled as well.... just for different reasons. ;)

Hard to imagine that he could get this far in his career without some talent himself.
