I would definately live in London if I could afford it. I love the hussle and bussle of the big city. Coventry would never be my first or even tenth choice to live but I've grown attached to it and like I said we do have good curries and a crap football team!

Me too Pebbles! :)

The key is affording it and being comfortable.

I would live in London in a heatbeat if I could really live there with a nice standard of living.

I really like the area of Birmingham that we live in, but I too would love to live in London if it were possible.

Naaaaah, I love London - for visiting & being a tourist, plus you can find anything you want there!

But for living?  No way! :)
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

- from Anthem, by Leonard Cohen (b 1934)

Everyone of course is going to post that their place/area is the best cos they live there!!!

I'll kinda do this....anywhere in London walking distance to a major park.  I love having all the pluses of living in the big city but the ability to escape with a 2 minute walk from my house to Greenwich Park (or a 1 minute run if my boy uses his scooter!).  There's lots of places in the park that tourists/visitors don't venture into so I go there with my wife & son to get a little "artificial" country.

As far as the "country", nice for visiting and being a tourist but I wouldn't want to live there  :P

If you were to ask my son, he would say Strood, Castleford, Langley Park, or Cullompton.  These are the 4 locations with Diggerland Parks....the type of park you would NEVER find in the lawsuit-prone US.  Check out the website and you'll see why!

Does it have to be England? What about Wales or Scotland?

Absolutely!  Broaden that search!   ;D

Yup, and I'll put in my .2p for the Isle of Man. No council tax, much lower taxes in general, less than 1% unemployment rate, and the average full-time employee makes around £600 a week.

I have to say that I absolutely love it here in Holbeach. Everything I really need is in walking distance and the kids school is so close by.
