Visa Fee
« on: March 12, 2004, 05:46:46 PM »
Just a quick question...the fee for fiance visa is (474.00 I think, can't remember off the top of my head) around 500.00. I was just reading over the details yet again, and when I got to the point of under 18 year-old dependants it suddenly dawned on me that maybe I need to pay the fee seperately for each of my children also??? I never thought of that...does anyone know?
Thanks, geally

Yes - you have to pay the fee for each child.  I speak from experience - I brought two kids with me and so we had to pay for 3 visas.  And we'll have to pay 3x for ILR and 3x for citizenship applications... :P

In that case - might I suggest you get married in the US and then apply for the Spouse visa?  You'll still have to pay the fee for each person, but if you come over on Fiancee Visas and THEN get married, you'll have to pay the fee for each of you for the visas, and then again when you apply for the FLR (Further Leave to Remain) after you get married.  So you're looking at a lot of money.

I mean, I don't know what your plans were - you have to balance the cost yourself.  But as it's currently about £250 in person (a little cheaper by post) per application for the FLR/ILR - that is a lot to balance against.  :-/
