New passport, need to renew ILR
« on: July 14, 2007, 09:16:27 PM »
I've had my ILR (spouse visa) for 7 years. I just renewed my US passport, so what do I do now to get my ILR stamp transferred to my new passport? I had a quick search, but couldn't find a useful website. I found plenty of info about applying for ILR, but nothing about getting the stamp renewed in a new passport. Any info will be helpful... websites, applications, costs, etc...

Thanks,
Skyla

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/applying/applicationforms/

Scroll down to find form NTLTOC- that's the one you need.

Note that you don't have to transfer your ILR- you can continue to travel with it in the old passport if you carry both passports with you when you travel.  But if you wish to transfer it for convenience, then fill out the NTLTOC form and send it in - it'll cost you £160.
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12

Cool! Thanks for the quick reply. At the moment, I don't see the point in transferring it. I'm going home for either TG or Xmas, so I'll just take both passports. If they give me any hassle, I'll transer it for next time.

Thanks again!
