Reason for moving to the UK
« on: March 14, 2004, 05:33:31 AM »
Just curious as to why people want to move to the UK.  For me its simple, no GW Bush there!  And my wife and I love London, Wales and Scotland!

I think the answer for most people isn't one that's listed.. that being, "spouse"  Most people probably have more than one reason why they wanted to move there or are happy in the UK, but a primary reason, at least for myself, isn't listed.

I love the UK and am infinitely more comfortable and at home there, but it wouldn't be my reason for moving.

"Other"

I would put spouse in the category of family and therefore voted "Family there".

Ditto.

Though "No GWB" is a good reason, too... ;)

Err.. yeah, how did I manage to overlook that?  ??? :-[  Since Sean isn't my spouse, my reason would still be 'other' ;)

Sorry for the mistake  :-/

Well I ticked "family there" because my fiances there and he will soon be family. The reason I am moving there is him, but I've always liked England.

I ticked "Better Job", but that isn't really true - it was just a different job for DH that moved us here.  We just thought it would be fun to live abroad for a few years and he got a position with the UK subsiderary of his company.

I'd have to put other. I'm here because this just happens to be the country my husband is from and resides in.
