Yes!  Yes!  Just waiting on Steve to finish cooking tea, and then we'll have it for dessert.

My next-door-neighbor's peach trees are simply bursting with fruit, and all I can do is think about peach cobbler.  Hmm.  I may have to liberate a few by dark of night....

the peaches at the viktualenmarkt in Munich were so stunningly beautiful, and put me in the mood for them, but... the peaches here at home are rubbish!   :\\\'(

The farmers market is coming to town this Saturday, so maybe they will have some nice ones.

I hope so, for your sake! The peaches around here at the moment are fantabulous! But that's at the greengrocer, not the supermarket, so maybe your farmers market will have good ones. They're the kind that, when you bite into them, the juice runs all the way down your arm! I love that! I'm actually scared to say this on the PIE thread, but I think they're almost too good to put in a pie! Blasphemy!

I made a peach cobbler today (finally!)... but unfortunately it's not pretty enough to photograph.  I overcooked it just slightly, so the crust is a little more brown than i would like, but im sure it will taste fine.

I made a lattice-top for it, cos that's how my granny always did it.   :)

I made a pie yesterday, for the first time in a while, and for the first time cheating a little and using a food mixer for the pastry...and it came out SOOOO well!  I've never made better pastry, and needless to say it was quicker and much less messy.

But is mixing by hand (including rubbing in) the only way?  Pie Puritans...does my pie still count as 'hand made' if I used a mixer?  :-\\\\

BTW, it was fake chicken, mushroom, leak and tarragon, and I can't post a photo 'cos we ate it!!!

 ;D

I must have been channeling your pie, because I've had a massive craving for chicken & mushroom pie for days now...!

Next stop is a crumble.

I'm sure it was gorgeous!  I didn't think my peach pie looked like all that, but posted the pic anyway.

Of course it counts!  I haven't used the food processor, yet.  I did one go with the pastry cutter -- didn't like it, too fiddly & I don't have the patience to keep digging the butter out from between the 'blades'.  Last time, with my peach pie, I used the 'rubbing between fingers method' & was pleased with the results -- plus it was kind of fun too!
