Nearest thing I can think of is the very good Swiss chocolate bar with hazelnuts.

Or a bar of dark chocolate plus a can of the smoked almonds.  Delish.

I went to Lidl this afternoon and bought some crazy 'American' paper napkins. They're red, white and blue and covered with typical American words: Wild West!, Movie Night!, Popcorn! Party!  ;D  They're so cheesy! I love them!

They also have ranch dressing this week. I'm not a fan, so didn't buy any to try it out, but it's there if anyone is interested.

FYI, for those of you hankering after sour cherries for pie or coffee cake - they sell jars (well, they did) of morello cherries in syrup. I crossed my fingers and was pleased to see that they are not too sweet (actually just tart enough) and the liquid is not really syrup-y at all. I bought 2 jars and now have a cherry pie in the oven. Will post back to let you know how successful they were but I'm pretty confident!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Picked up the ranch dressing just to see (not a big fan, but one of my kids is) - but passed on the "Hot Dog Flavoured Catsup".....

I was up bright and early today to be the first one at Lidl's Christmas market! Well, it's not really a market, but that's what they're calling it and they have loads of good Christmas-y stuff. I don't normally like to get started on Christmas this early, but there were so many yummy chocolate treats, marzipan, biscuits, cakes, etc.! It was great! I even got a few bags of chocolate Euros for friends in the US!

And they have mixer taps.

Lidl really comes into its own for Christmas - the treats and chocolates are amazing!

Well I think the Germans pretty much invented Christmas as we know it.

Not sure about Christmas as we know it but they sure do know their Christmas sweets.

Stollen, iced ginger bread biscuit (cookies), anything marzipan
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.
