As for loaning out books, I never used to do it, but then I kind of thought of it as "paying it forward". You know, I find a book I really enjoy, I should pass it on to someone else to enjoy and hope they pass it on to someone else. My good friend did this to me with a book about a group of 4 girlfriends and I thought that was kind of cool.

Exactly how I feel! I think that too few people actually read for pleasure now-days... and people who say 'i dont like to read' just have not found their area of interest.  So, I loan out my books (usually paperbacks) to friends, family, co-workers who show an interest in what im reading... hoping it sparks something inside them.  If they loose or damage them.. im not really that bothered because we're moving to the USA in another 4 years and theres no way I'll be able to to take all my books as it is.. and i just keep buying more!

I'll start my library when I move to America at which point, i might feel differently about loaning them out.  But for now, I think of it as 'Paying it Forward' (good concept Bmore_2_UK)
