Buying Levis in the USA over the Net

Good old American products like Levis jeans are tough to come by here, at least in adult sizes, and what I do see in the stores in the UK seem to be different from what I'm used to back home.  Not to mention the fact they are vastly overpriced here in the UK.

Do any of you know how much money in official duties or fees I would end up paying if I wanted to have somebody back in the States buy me a few pairs, and then have them shipped over here--that is shipped legally and legitimately, without violating any customs and excise regulations.

Basically - next time you are over there, stock up at the outlets   that's what I do!

By the time you factor in the import duty, VAT and postage costs, you might as well nip down to Oxford St and pick up a pair from that 'madhouse' place if its still there! you'll pay about 7-10 quid more - so thats a possibilty in case you or anyone you know isn't flying in!

If my husband wants some and we don't have a trip planned to the States...then we have my brother go out and buy some and then ship them over as a 'previously owned item' so that we don't have to pay customs.

We did this, too.  My husband is tall and skinny, and Levi's are one of the few types of jeans that fit him properly.
