Any NFL/College Football fans out there in the Berkshire area? I live in Reading and it would be great to get together with other fans to watch. My UK wife is not really into the games.

I'm not in the area, but I love American football season. I'm a Miami Dolphins fan. It's a downright shame that Dan Marino retired without a Super Bowl ring.

P.S. I always root for the Maryland Terps, since I went to Maryland, but they inevitably get crushed by a team like Penn State, etc.

Im a Raider and UCLA fan myself. Ive actually started a Meet-up group to see if I can find any other football fans in the area. I live in Reading but it looks like I may have to expand the search out.

I'd be happy to exchange PM's or emails about it with you, if you can't find any fans locally.

Don't laugh, but I was born and raised a Minnesota Viking fan!  Pre-season so far, one win one loss.

No laughing from me, husband is a HUGE minnesota vikings fan...also because he was born and raised there...i'm sure he wishes he was born somewhere where they win more but he's proud of them all the same!

Where does everyone get to see american football - ie which channel is it on?

Channel 5 shows some US sports but I can't remember if they show football, otherwise you can get NASN as part of a Setanta Sports package, it's only £10 quid per month. Or, if you look on your hub's team website there is probably a subscription thingy to watch the games online.

I know Sky Sports does several games.  I believe Sky Sports Extra or Sky Sports One.  I will definitely be tuned in for Packer games.   [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Hi y'all,

The NFL TV schedule for the UK can be found at the NFL's UK website.  All the games are on Sky Sports or Five.

Go Cowboys!

good luck,
Carl

Forgive my ignorance but I am finally getting ready to bite the bullet and I am trying to decide between Virgin and sky, I really only want the sports channels. Since they are billed as premium they make you take another package...The Virgin website says you can add sky sports packages is this not true? If that is so I would not even consider them. I have noticed that the NFL live games are spread across the all of the sky sports channels 1,2,3 and extra...cute. Any advice?

I have the XL TV package with Virgin and have Setanta Sports channels (as well as Liverpool FC TV and Rangers FC TV!!) included in that package.  I also pay extra for Sky Sports package (1,2,3 & extra).  I pretty much get all the sports channels.

And, strangely enough, this is MY treat, not my husband's...

I don't think that's strange.  When we can afford it, we will be getting a sports package so I can watch American football and maybe a few other sports.  My husband couldn't be less bothered about them.
