Van Halen Reunion
« on: August 13, 2007, 08:23:17 PM »
Are they really getting back together? I can't get all the details yet. Are they desperate for money? One time tour thing, or really getting back together...?

Haven't they broken up and had reunions about 20 times now?  ;D

This from TMZ...

With Van Halen announcing plans for a reunion tour, what better time to ask David Lee Roth for his opinion on Lindsay Lohan? Well, as good a time as any, really.

The band will kick off its tour in Charlotte on September 27, but they were at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles today to make the big announcement. When our photog was able to catch up with Diamond Dave as he made his way into the elevator after the press conference, we posed the Lindsay question to him. Roth had a simple answer: "Take two aspirin and give me a call in the morning."

Wait, is that supposed to help her?

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

I'll believe it when I see it.

I saw an article on CCN yesterday that they are going on tour but Michael Anthony won't be with them rather Eddie's son, Wolfgang will play Bass. To me that's not a proper reunion.

I was into them during the late 70's but I didn't really like them as much in the 80's, DLR went too OTT right before he was fired.  I did like Sammy Hagar with them for a bit....nice teeth.  ;D

I thought Sammy Hagar sucked in comparison with David Lee Roth, and after he left, the band wasn't nearly as good.

I preferred them with David Lee Roth, too. Although it reached a point where it became The David Lee Roth Show, rather than being all about the band. It was a shame. I never warmed to Sammy Hagar, though, probably because I was too used to DLR's voice.

I've seen recent photos of Eddie Van Halen, and he doesn't look so good. I know he had cancer and has been in rehab recently - I think it's all taken a big toll on him physically.

Yes, Chary, he used to be so cute. He's definitely changed over time, who knows from what.

When your kids are old enough to play in the band...maybe you're too old for a reunion tour!   ;)

I didn't care much for Sammy Hagar either. I really thought Eddie Van Halen was the best. David Lee Roth was so OTT and flamboyant! I know that was the 80's thing but Eddie seemed to fit the group much better.

Wow! In that picture, he's really changed since their golden age. He must be at least in his early to mid-50's.

Early 50's, I think. As I said, he's not had an easy life, and he's paid the price by losing his pretty face.  :(
