SPLUTTER SPLUTTER .... WHAT??! Oh, Karen, I don't think we can be friends anymore. I adore Rhydian.  [smiley=heart.gif]

Oh you have fallen for the sentimentality - and probably that he spoke in Welsh...  ;)

I just can't see where he would fit in though.  I just don't find him that versatile or interesting.  Although I did like A Bridge over Troubled Water.

I thought he was much more appealing in his audition than how he now looks on stage.  And if he would blink once in a while!

Same Difference though, have huge appeal to the 7-12 year old crowd.  And it's  a huge market.  they would even appeal to the US market because they're so wholesome.  I'm sure Simon is rubbing his hands together in glee over the prospect.    I just loved their last song.  And their emotion is genuine.

We don't speak Welsh around these parts! But I do like that he's Welsh and doing well, I'll admit that. I think he would fit in, though. A lot of people my age (ahem) like that kind of stuff!

Did you fall for the pity-me-I've-been-bullied Same Difference thing?  ;)

(I'm not picking on you - I fell for it, too. I love them.)

I just don't get Leon's appeal. He is mediocre at best and looks like he has been riding a horse. He's a cute kid, but I just don't see his 'X factor.'

I still like Rhydian. I know he is a robot, but his voice is amazing. Same Difference fascinate me. She kinda reminds me of Reese Witherspoon's character in Election.

I thought Leon was going to go like every single week since the live shows started. I can't believe he's won. I guess I'm just not hearing the same thing as everyone else.

It was better last series. Leona was miles better than Ray. Not watched this one couldn't get into it.

Wow, go Leon! I thought people would vote for him more, he was just somehow more likeable than Rhydian, plus did anyone else notice how you couldn't hear Rhydian at all when he was singing with Katherine Jenkins?

Still, whoever won it I wouldn't buy their single, or album!

I don't understand what people like about Leon as a performer.

Out of the three of them, Leon probably needed the record deal the most because he doesn't have a shot without it.

Personally, I thought he should have been out of the competition weeks ago. I wouldn't have even put him into the live shows.

I think people like Leon because he's more natural.  Same Difference have been to  stage school (hence the loony smiles) and Rhydian's obviously had vocal training. Plus they seem like the kind of performers who would have careers on the stage rather than as  recording artists. X-Factor is about finding a commercially successful pop star.

Leon's great!  we were so happy he won.  It was his duet with Kylie Minogue I'm sure that won it for him. Also, he's got 'it'.  There is a reason that Michael Buble brought him out to sing at Wembley.

I'm sure Same difference will have a heck of a career cutting records for kiddie pop.  Simon is rubbing his hands together in glee at the prospect!

Rhydian... well I'm sure there's a lot of old ladies who would love to buy his albums.  I did love both his performances.  He's definitely got chops but his style is just not accessible to the masses.

And what the heck was Kylie thinking with that outfit.  Her thighs dominated that performance!

So, Leona last year, Leon this year.  My bets are on someone called Leo winning next year :-X :P

Just so so glad R didn't win.  Pompous x 1,00,000,000 blech!

Well I can't say I'm pleased Leon won. I can't remember any one of his performances I really enjoyed. To me he's awkward and lacking in confidence. I'm sure as he gets older that will change. He's a lovely young lad but I think there were many better deserving acts this year.
Rhydian although a freak is much more talented than any of the other two acts last night. Very professional! I'm not sure I would buy any of his records but I wouldn't mind seeing him perform in person.
The song they chose for the winner actually sucked! I mean really really bad. Not a chance that will make Christmas number 1.  ::)
