International Money Transfer
« on: August 20, 2007, 06:03:21 PM »
Grrrrrrrr.... My wife & I have a smallish ($1000) pile of money in our US bank acount that we need to get to the UK. We need to get it here pretty quickly for some expenses I need to pay this week. She is over there, I am over.

We have used Western Union once for a small chunk of money (£75). But their fees are pretty high when it comes to bigger chunks of money.

Any advice?

If speed is your priority, do a straight wire transfer from the US bank account to the UK bank account.  Shouldn't take more than 2 days, costs about $45.
