Not to mention they surely stamped & scanned his passport on arrival?? I hope you get an apology from them when they've sorted out the blip in their system.

Exactly, I still have no idea how this could have happened! I hope its resolved quickly but I doubt we will get an apology.

Jules!  My heart skipped a beat when I saw this thread!

I'm sure it will all get sorted out but what a pain in the a$$!!  Keep us posted.  :)

Yes Jenn....its unreal!

The very good news is that I actually found my BA E-ticket email this morning for the trip in question. YAH!

I emailed it to the Embassy but I got an auto email stating:

Your e-mail was deleted without being read.

This e-mail address is solely for individuals who have been authorized
to contact the Consular Information Unit about a specific matter.

Lovely!!  >:(

I guess I will type a letter and attach my BA document and send it off (registered post of course).

UPDATE - Good news!

I just heard from the Embassy and all is clear for my husband to get his visa! I was told it was a computer error (yeah, figured that). Anyway, I asked for a letter explaining the issue and correction (in case any future problems arose from it). The guy I spoke with said he would go back to the officier and ask if they would send me a letter. He just called back and said that the officier said they don't do that but the problem has been corrected on the system (lets hope so). I guess there is nothing more that I can do to get evidence of their mess up and the correction of it.

Hopefully we will have his passport back late next week with the visa!   :)

I did a little happy dance for you, technology is grand when it works and a curse when it glitches.  That aside, you were right, had your ducks in a row, and now it is time to take a deep breath, and celebrate good times!  Congratulations!

Thanks guys for your messages!  :)

I am smiling today. It is a big relief so now I can really start looking forward to our move back.

Congrats!

Congrats!  I'm glad it was a correctable mistake.

Thank goodness for that!

Thanks guys!

I am sending DH's passport off on Monday instead of today or tomorrow because the Embassy is closed on Monday for Labor day and I don't want his passport just sitting somewhere en route for a few days. Maybe I am ultra paranoid.   :o

Figure I will send it first thing on Monday and they will have it on Tuesday.

ahhh, I am so happy for you!  ;D

See, some things just fall into place (after all the worrying) like they're supposed to :)

Wonderful! I am so glad it worked out!! Too bad about the letter though, could have come in handy if this weird thing popped up again. Hopefully it won't though!
