American Food Shop in Cambridgeshire Area
« on: August 23, 2007, 10:17:30 AM »
I have been noticing all the lovely posts about American food stores in London.  I would love to hear about some a bit closer to me.  I am starting to miss some things from the states, but am unable to go to London to get them.  Any ideas?

Not really, at least not in Cambridge.  There is an "international deli" but I haven't seen anything else.  Waitrose has some American stuff.

The Italian Deli on Mill road has provolone cheese and some other stuff that is not American, but that you can get in the U.S. but not here.

My uncle was in the US Air Force a few years ago and he was based at the RAF station Lakenheath, which is very near to Cambridge (although I think it actually is in Suffolk).

If you could somehow "make a friend" with any of the US Air Force personnel that are based there, they could do some shopping for you at the base PX (just like Vons and the same prices!)

 ;)
It sure ain't cricket!
