Well, I searched high and low, finally have The Manny by Holly Peterson.  Actually had to get my fiance to order it for me online, as all the shops had it on order and were sold out. Thank goodness for the internet!  I also enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada and Jilly Cooper's books.  Do they have support groups for Chicklit addicts?

I'm not a huge fan of chick-lit, but I do enjoy Jennifer Weiner's books. Good in Bed and Goodnight Nobody are my favorites.

I generally despise chick-lit but, even so, there's a warm spot in my heart for Katie Fforde's books. I like them in spite of the fact that they fit the silly pattern of most chick-lit books (girl meets boy, girl doesn't particularly like boy, girl has wacky girlfriends, girl falls in love with boy, girl nearly loses boy, girl wins!). But Fforde's heroines have jobs that I'm much more fond of than some of the other chick-lit writers out there. Too many of them create these beautiful young women with high-powered jobs, dressed to the nines, all living in London. I can't relate to that at all, nor do I want to. Fforde writes about women renovating old houses, running B&Bs, making pottery, organising farmers' markets, gardening, etc. All more 'country-ish' vocations - and ones which excite me much more than working in advertising or anything like that.

I (and even my DH) really like Helen Fielding.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

I loved Bridget Jones' Diary.  I don't usually read chick lit so nothing else comes to mind at the moment.  I enjoyed Good in Bed but I wouldn't say it's a favorite.

I thought the second BJD book was better than the first, which is odd because they made a dog's dinner of the film.

I don't read Chick-lit, but, I did read the Bridget Jones books and enjoyed those.  Probably because she is just as wacky and has runs of bad luck just like I do.  :P

Hmmm, I'm a huge chicklit fan, so I'm not sure how to choose. (To my non-chicklet reading fans, please don't hate me for indulging in my genre choice :P)

I'll just give my favourite authors.

I love Meg Cabot's books, they are always well written.

Jennifer Weiner is another favourite, well written and usually about strong-minded women.

Marian Keyes books are usually entertaining, though sometimes get a bit dark for me.

Jane Green, I loved Jemima J, any book about an overweight woman who was able to lose weight is great by me :P

Louise Bagshawe's books till she became less, how do I say this, less provocative :-[  But it seems little sis Tilly has taken over in that department.

Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees.  I love that they write their books together and fell in love while writing, got married and have two daughters.

I must say though that I end up putting down loads of books because I hate the main character.  I do this way to often.  Whiny women who think the only way they can get by in life is to have a partner.  Or the storyline is just to predictable.

I'll read anything Meg Cabot or Marian Keyes writes (including blog posts and columns in Marie Claire!) and I can't seem to pass by a book by Cecelia Ahern without buying it.  ;D

I just realised that I had not posted my reason for enjoying the book I mentioned and it looks like you provided me with it! I plan on reading more of them. The one I read was quite funny and in a way that is more clever than some other chick-lit books.

I like books by Lily Prior.  La Cucina and Nectar.  Both very sensual and great storytelling.

Alice Hoffman.  Good writing and storytelling with a bit of fairytale magic.

I'm not a fan of chick-lit generally but I love women's lit.
