1. That I secure more temp work or a regular part-time job.
2. That my husband & I find a nice, cheaper flat/house to rent.
3. That my loan cheque situation gets sorted soon!
4. That a date is set for my panel in October.
5. That my husband gets a more stable job(s) within the next couple months (one PT job he has is permanent, the other PT job ends in November).
6. That I won't have any worries in regards to my fertility.

;) I might want to borrow some!

Thankfully, FLR is sorted! (That was one of the most important items on my list.)

1.  That my work permit is sorted soon for my job.
2.  That immigration lets me back in after I get the job (without some of the nightmares I have read on here).
3.  That my wedding in Greece can go according to my fiance's and my plans.
4.  That others get what they are wishing for as well.

I'm also crossing my fingers for finishing my thesis (I'll be lucky to get my first draft submitted by Sept. 30th because I'm still doing data analysis and interpretation!) - but while the end of my course is September 30th, I have a further 2 years in which to submit!!

hehe, I'm still doing data analysis too, but I think my diss is quite a bit shorter than yours (you're MPhil, right? Mine's 16K words for an MA.)  I could request an extension, but I need to graduate ASAP for immigration purposes- boo.  Good luck on your thesis!

Sing it sister! I'm in EXACTLY the same boat! I saw your ticker and my heart skipped a beat!

My fingers are crossed about a fellowship I've applied for. It's a great project, excellent location, and decent money. Too good to be true really....

I'm just MSc but it's MSc by Research, so my thesis and viva count for 100% of the degree. I don't actually have a word limit - as long as it's good, it doesn't matter if it's only 10,000 words - but it'll probably end up somewhere between 15-25,000 (which is gonna take a while since I'm only on about 3,000 words right now). It's a bit worrying though because I'm supposed to leave for the US in January to start my PhD and there are some students from last year's course who still haven't submitted yet!

Where to start...

1.  that DH and I find a nice house that we can afford
2.  that things settle down this year so that we can have a somewhat normal life for once
3.  that the kids both have good years at school
4.  that our best friends here get their situation sorted out in a positive way and they don't have to move to London.

1.  That my fiance visa is approved--My app and documents arrived at the consulate yesterday!

2.  That I get a cheap flight (non-stop!) back to the UK before or around mid-September.

3.  That whatever airline I get a ticket on they accept my very over-size box as oversize luggage.

They sound like 3 wishes for my geni or fairy god-mother  :)

A passport for kid2...
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.
