Thank you everyone!!!!  This is great.  I'll have a list when we go so we don't over do it.  I'll be taking it from all of your list ;D

I'm so excited.  Now we just have to find time to go.

no flippin' idea!  It's not too dark and not too light.  It's Juuuuu-st right for my pancakes.  and it's about £3 for a big jug.

for costco, do you have to own a business or have a membership card through a business, like at sam's?

or work in a particular industry such as education or insurance.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Or get it when you go back to America for a visit.  We paid $50 for a year.

Modified Original offer to help get membership. Sorry but just re-read information and realised we can't help as easily as I originally thought!

On a sort of related note, do they bag stuff at the Costco here, or do you bring your own? We've got a membership but have never gone because we didn't get a car as we orginally had planned. The closest Costco is 4.5 miles away, and we've thought about taking a cab or bus to get there, but then you've got to load up all that stuff you bought.

Nope no bags, but why don't you bring your own?  We do all the time.

Oopsie. Missed this thread somehow.

We're big fans of Costco. We got a trade membership through a friend but I could also get one as an NHS employee....

We usually get:
Chicken breasts
Salmon
Scallops
Pine nuts
Krusteaz pancake mix
Party and BBQ stuff (huge racks of ribs for next to nothing!)
Fruit for pies (always takes so many peaches, etc. for a pie so it's easier to buy a flat of them!)
Body lotion
Shower gel

We really try not to go crazy and to be honest we have no room to store things. We got two gigantic bottles of sweet chili dipping sauce last time and every time the fridge gets full I curse that huge bloody bottle taking up all the space!  ;)
