I wonder if the show will have to take into account the current comic series, since it is written by Joss and is the "offical" next season.

Considering that Giles hasn't really come into play until the last issue, it wouldn't surprise me if he leaves an opening somewhere in the story for it.  After all, it's Joss's universe - we just live in it. ;D

Ooo... do you think Ethan Rayne will show?  Assuming it pre-dates the comic, of course.  Although, death has never stopped anyone from popping back up in the Buffyverse before.
