Junehawk, I take a US 7.5 or 8, narrow.  Why do you ask?

A few months ago (can't really remember when) I bought some shoes from the US. Some fit but some don't.  They didn't sell on ebay so they are in the spare room, in their boxes, still wrapped.  I'll either give them to a charity shop or throw them away before the move but I'd really rather find a nice home for them with a pair of feet that will fit them :D

Maybe I should come by your place this weekend?  I would be very happy to re-home any shoes that actually fit me.. and I think we live fairly close by. (Not sure.)

I'm in Chiswick... so I think you're not that far away.

Hmmm.  I'm a 5 to 5.5 in UK sizes.  I hate it when I can't find half-sizes, though, as it's impossible for me to fit in a 6 without falling out of the shoe.  It can be frustrating.  There is such a lack of half sizes here.
The chances are there's a reason we've been left here, but I'm not disappointed.  - Idlewild

I've just had a very disappointing shoe shopping day. :(

I tried Schuh, Raw, Office, Clarks, and Barrats. Most didn't even carry what I want which is a semi-casual maryjane - something I can wear with jeans or a skirt and tights.

Raw had Dr Martens but I have finally had to face the fact that unless it's a sandal, I can't wear them (I need a half size with them).

Raw had another brand called El Naturalista which I was intrigued by, but they didn't have an 8 so I could compare the 7 (which just fit) to it. Has anyone tried El Naturalista?

They also had the brand Oxygen which I might go back and try but they are a bit too geriatric looking for me!

Hush Puppies actually had some styles I liked but the new Barrats, which stocks them, now has a crap selection.

Bah humbug.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I just bought some shoes at M&S. It is the only shop where I can find shoes that fit me.

Most of the people shopping for shoes looked to be at least 70.

Also, why is it that when people try on shoes and they decide not to buy them, they don't put them back on the shelves?  The floor is full of discarded shoes, and when you try to find a shoe in your size, you think it's not available, but it may just be on the floor somewhere.  How hard is it to put something back where you found it?
