my mor-nana used to make these with strawberry jello.

she also used to make a pie using strawberry jello & cool whip for filling, graham cracker crust.

I was seriously deprived as a child.  I'm going to go yell at my parents.

I have never heard of this kind of cake, but it seriously sounds good!

I think I am gaining weight just thinking about it! 

Sadly, last time I checked, jell-o was not vegetarian. So maybe that's weirdly a good thing for me?

It's in the asian grocers. It's this stuff. You just add boiling water, and let it sit until firm. It's exactly like jello.
