Ditto to that!!! How disappointing...i hoped it was the weekend of the underdog.

You know this is the first time I watched a game from start to final whistle. And I have been here nigh on 30 years! I had been over in Paris week before last (business !) and I felt a fun spirited mood on the street and in the cafes. OK yea they may be hosting it, but I just felt the atmosphere so much more relaxed than when the Football Euro or World Cup is on the street. Is it always more relaxed with Rugby fans?

By far, much better game than football, though I'm not saying footie isn't skillful.

Are we not, by virtue of historical ties (Auld Alliance and all that), supposed to support France?

Ssshhh...just between you and me (and all the other scots out there)...come the weekend i'll be supporting France over England, just didn't want to offend any of those south of the border    (but then, as a born and bred scot, i was taught from an early age to support anyone who was playing against England, no matter who it is!  Terrible really)

But i wholeheartedly agree with you the Rugby crowd does feel much more relaxed than football...have you spent any time in Edinburgh during the 6-nations?  Fantastic atmosphere I LOVE IT!

That's what my grandfather and uncle taught me too. My father was never too fussed about the rivalry (well he couldn't have been considering he let me pop out of my mother's belly south of the border and I ain't talking Mexico either). After growing up in 40's and 50's Leith, he escaped and never looked back. On the other hand, grandpa was the proudest Scot this side of the Mississippi. I remember him going on about the time he had the entire Scottish football team to his house for a party. In St. Louis!! Don't ask, I never did and now I have no one to ask.

No, I have always avoided even contemplating going to auld reekie when rugby's on but after the feel good factor of Paris and your comments, I think I may just have to give it a bash.

We're supporting England.  All DHs friends were like "who're you gonna support?" meaning when it was England vs USA.  Sorry, the US team is good, but they just lack the stamina (& support) to go far.

You really should, it's party town.  When i move to Glasgow there'll be certain dates where I will always plan to be in Edinburgh...and the 6 nations are on that list.

Well at least we won something yesterday. We beat Ireland yesterday 22-11.

In the Shinty/Hurling International (called shinty here, hurling there) Hurling means something entirely different to me.   

But i want to know!!!

I'm guessing I'm not the only one who was hoping for an Argentina win last night.   

It certainly would have made for an 'easier' final prospect for England if Argentina had won but the way this tournament is going there's no guarantee that South Africa will repeat their whitewash over England...I reckon they've got a pretty good chance, they're a different side now than 3 weeks ago.

Well who knows. I do believe that France was the stronger team on Saturday night and England just got very lucky probably due to tired legs and God watching. lol
