If anyone is interested, I got this in my email today. A charity gala to see Elizabeth.

I'd go if it was closer to home. You even get a goody bag.

ETA: Nevermind! I got it to load! How awesome, I wanna go!!

Is anyone interested in going to the Gala? It's £30 and you get to see the costumes up close, you get a goodie bag, there's a drinks thing beforehand, and you get to have a question/answer session with the costume designer. I really want to go but I don't know if I'm brave enough to go alone.

LOL! I don't even know if I can go at this point, their ticketing system online is down, and that usually means loads of people are trying to buy tickets all at the same time. It may even be sold out already!

The Las Vegas critic gave it a bad review. He also said the script was bad. My wife was disappointed when she read this. She said we are going anyway. We went last night and my wife loved it.

Yeah, all of the reviews I've read have been bad to mediocre, which is disappointing. :-\\\\  I'll still go see it, though.

I will definitely go see it.  That being said, all the previews I have seen, the history is appallingly BAD, she's shown as WAY too young for the Armada era, etc., holes you could push an elephant through, but as I said, I will see it anyway because (a) I love to look for all the errors and (b) it looks visually very pretty.  Hope it's not as bad as The Tudors, dear god, now THAT is a dreadful waste of time.

She does look way too young for this bit of history, but, Hollywood glamour, you know....

It does look very pretty!  And I do love Cate Blanchett!

I got an email saying that their website was overloaded, so to try again.

If anyone is interested, I have 2 free tickets to see this in a preview screening on October 22 at the Odeon in Bath. I won't be able to make it, so I thought someone here might want them. Just PM me if you are interested!  ;D

Oh man. I've been watching my email religiously hoping that seefilmfirst would send me a code for this but no luck yet.
